THE NEW 2022 HONDA CIVIC TYPE R IS COMING SOON

  
Honda has released the first image of the redesigned 2022 Honda Civic Type R this week and although the automaker did not provide much information, what they did say speaks volumes. Honda promises that the redesigned Type R will be the most powerful ever and the most fun to drive. The first picture of the Type R shows the new car in heavy camouflage, but we can already see a few details about the design.
  
For example, we can tell that the headlights will feature the same design as the new generation of the Honda Civic which arrived earlier this year. We expect that the redesigned Type R will get many of the improvements inside as well including a new dashboard, better infotainment system, and more technology.
  
What enthusiasts want to know is what is under the hood. Honda did not provide many details in that regard, but the company did say that the new Civic Type R will begin testing on the famed Nurburgring circuit in Germany. That means that Honda's flagship performance vehicle will be testing on the world's greatest track. The current Honda Civic Type R is powered by a 2 L turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. This engine will likely remain in the 2022 model but like other Civic vehicles, it will likely be improved to be more powerful and more efficient.
